Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, WV is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing support to physicians and direct patient care in an inpatient setting.

Responsibilities include administering medications, participating in care planning, observing patient conditions, and documenting interventions while collaborating with Registered Nurses and other health care professionals. A valid LPN license and BLS are required, with background checks as applicable.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license issued by the state or multi-state license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• State and Federal background checks as required for regulated areas.
• One year clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to promote comfort and return to functional health.
• Performs designated therapeutic procedures as needed.
• Observes and reports patient concerns and progress to the supervising clinician.
• Assists physicians and the supervising role with examinations and procedures as assigned.
• Contributes to nursing assessment by collecting and reporting data.
• Monitors patient condition and reports deviations from normal health status.
• Participates in developing the patient plan of care and prioritizing measures.
• Educates patients and families and assists in rehabilitation per teaching plan.
• Documents nursing interventions and responses to care in the health record.
