Job summary

Millwood Hospital in Arlington, TX, is seeking an Inpatient Therapist for the KIDS unit to provide evidence-based psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and family counseling within an inpatient setting.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s in Social Work or related field and an active LPC/LCSW/LMSW license, with 1–3 years of psychiatric experience. Responsibilities include assessments, treatment planning, teamwork, and compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work or clinical mental health field required.
• 1–3 years of experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.
• Experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills.
• State licensure: LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, LMSW or LCSW required.
• CPR and CPI training completed prior to start; competency exam may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to develop treatment plans.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy using CBT, psychodynamic, and other modalities.
• Manage crisis situations and ensure patient safety with de-escalation techniques.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for care coordination and discharge planning.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant medical documentation and support quality improvement efforts.
