Job summary

Millwood Hospital, a UHS affiliated hospital in Arlington, TX, seeks a dedicated Inpatient Therapist for the KIDS unit to provide psychotherapy, crisis intervention and family counseling in an inpatient setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Social Work or related field, state licensure (LPC/LMSW/LMSW etc.), and 1–3 years of psychiatric experience, with CPR/CPI training and flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.
• Experience: 1–3 years in a psychiatric health care facility with family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; strong clinical assessment skills.
• License: State licensure such as LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, LMSW or LCSW.
• CPR and CPI training completed; may need to pass a competency exam; flexible hours and possible overtime.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy using CBT, psychodynamic, art, and behavioral therapies.
• Manage crises with intervention and de-escalation techniques to ensure safety.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for care, case management, and discharge planning; document per HIPAA.
• Engage in clinical research activities when applicable to support quality improvement.
