Job summary

Summa Health is seeking a board certified/board eligible Hospice & Palliative Medicine physician to join our inpatient-focused team at Akron Hospital Campus. The role is full-time with weekend and night call expectations and teaching opportunities in the HPM Fellowship Program.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team, participate in resident and medical student education, and contribute to an expanding advanced palliative care program supported by Epic EMR.

Qualifications

• Board Certified/Eligible in Hospice & Palliative Medicine
• Fellowship trained in Hospice & Palliative Medicine
• Current and unrestricted license in the State of Ohio, or willing to obtain
• Compassionate, caring demeanor with patients, families, and staff
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Inpatient Hospice & Palliative Medicine care with potential outpatient responsibilities
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacists, social workers, and spiritual care
• Teaching opportunities in the HPM Fellowship Program and resident rotations
