Job summary

Arbour Hospital in the greater Boston area is seeking an Activity Therapist to join its inpatient multidisciplinary treatment team. The role provides expressive arts therapy, psychoeducational groups, and recreational activities on psychiatric units.

You will perform initial activity therapy assessments, facilitate multiple groups daily, document thoroughly, and coordinate with the treatment team to support patient goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in social work, mental health counseling, or in a related field required.
• 6 months experience as a group leader in a psychiatric hospital, partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient treatment program preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform initial activity therapy assessment to develop appropriate treatment goals
• Facilitate 4 groups per day
• Complete group documentation and communicate with other members of the treatment team via treatment planning and team meetings
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
