Job summary

Arbour Hospital invites an Activity Therapist to join our inpatient behavioral health team. This role is 16 hours per weekend, providing expressive arts therapy, psychoeducational groups, and recreational activities on our psychiatric units.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in social work or a related field and has at least 6 months of group leader experience in a psychiatric setting. Weekend availability is preferred to support the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in social work, mental health counseling, or in a related field required.
• 6 months experience as a group leader in a psychiatric hospital, partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient treatment program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial activity therapy assessment to develop appropriate treatment goals
• Facilitate 4 groups per day
• Complete group documentation and communicate with other members of the treatment team via treatment planning and team meetings
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
