Job summary

Mercy Co in Missouri seeks an experienced patient financial services assistant to help patients explore alternative financing and assist with Medicaid and other program applications. You will provide education on financial policies and support at the point of service, while documenting actions and researching questions from patients.

In this role you will join a caring, collaborative team that values excellent customer service and integrity.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree or equivalent.
• Experience in Revenue Cycle, healthcare billing or insurance.
• Prior Epic Grand Central or hospital billing experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients seeking alternative financing and/or assistance; provides support to patients completing and filing financial statements, Medicaid and other federal program applications.
• Documents actions taken, answers patient inquiries, and researches problem accounts.
• Provides patient education of financial policies; supports Point-of-Service initiatives.
