Job summary

DaMar Staffing in Indianapolis seeks an experienced medical coder to join our clinical coding team. You will review clinical documentation, assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, and ensure APC accuracy for outpatient and inpatient cases.

The role requires RHIT or CCS credentials, at least 3 years of coding experience in ICD-9, strong reading comprehension of medical records, and the ability to work accurately in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• RHIT or CCS credential required.
• Requires minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in ICD-9; CPT code assignment and APC grouping.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret medical records and other treatment documentation.
• Requires high level of concentration in a high-volume environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with physicians.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results.
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, & HCPCS codes.
• Ensure accurate APC assignment.
• Resolve pre-bill coding edits.
• Work coding-related denials.
• Maintain coding quality, productivity, and compliance standards.
• Provide operational support to remain current on workflows and functions.
