Job summary

Capital Health seeks a Hospital Coder Inpatient Senior Coder to review and code complex inpatient records using ICD-10-CM/PCS and MS-DRG/APR-DRG groupings. This expert role mentors staff, supports CDI and revenue cycle teams, and drives accurate, compliant coding for optimal reimbursement.

The position requires CCS certification, four years of coding experience, encoder/EMR proficiency, and strong communication. 8-hour shifts with a standard 40-hour week at our US facilities.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree preferred with CCS certification.

Responsibilities

• Review and code complex inpatient records using ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Lead SME on DRGs and regulatory updates; mentor staff.
• Collaborate with CDI, quality, and revenue cycle teams for optimal reimbursement.
• Monitor coding data, identify trends, and provide feedback to staff and leadership.
• Develop training materials and conduct departmental coding education.
