Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year in hospital coding experience preferred.
• Successful completion of coding courses in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and interprets medical information to assign ICD codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Abstracts data elements and enters coded information into the designated system.
• Manages unbilled coding reports to support cash flow.
• Keeps up to date with ICD guideline changes by training and reviewing coding resources.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
