Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking an In-Patient Coder to perform inpatient medical coding and data entry for acute care hospital visits. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for CABG, Orthopedic, and Medical cases, using the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to streamline the billing process.

The role requires compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or with a team while floating across sites.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC certification is REQUIRED.
• Experience coding CABG, Orthopedics, and Med cases is REQUIRED.
• Experience with 3M 360 Encoder HDM is REQUIRED.
• Meets or exceeds Quality and Productivity standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
• Detail oriented with ability to follow through on issues to resolution.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes for primary/secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Ensure accurate DRG assignment based on documentation and guidelines.
• Create compliant physician queries as needed.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists per client contract.
• Assign present-on-admission indicators.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Float between multiple sites and coding specialties with flexibility.
