Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking an In-Patient Coder to perform inpatient coding for acute hospital visits, including CABG, Ortho, and Med cases. The role uses the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to streamline coding and billing processes.

Essential duties include accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, DRG assignment, and creating physician queries. You will review medical necessity, maintain problem lists, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and related regulations.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent experience.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification required.
• Experience coding CABG, Orthopaedic, and Medical cases required.
• Experience with 3M 360 Encoder HDM required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: assigns ICD-10-CM and PCS diagnoses and procedures and determines DRG.
• Create compliant physician queries.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists per client contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Float between multiple sites and coding specialties.
