Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking an In-Patient Coder to perform ICD-10-CM/PCS coding for acute inpatient visits, including CABG, Ortho, and Med cases. Proficiency with the 3M 360 Encoder HDM is required for streamlined coding and billing processes.

You will ensure compliant physician queries, verify medical necessity on claims, and maintain problem lists per contract. The role demands strong communication, organization, and teamwork, with flexibility to float across sites.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent experience; AHIMA or AAPC certification REQUIRED.
• Experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases REQUIRED.
• Experience working with 3M 360 Encoder HDM REQUIRED.
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
• Detail oriented and able to follow through to resolution.
• Must act both independently and as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes and DRG.
• Create compliant physician queries.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists per client contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Float between multiple sites and coding specialties.
