Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks an In-Patient Coder to handle medical coding and data entry for acute inpatient hospital visits. You will code CABG, Ortho, and Med cases and use the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to streamline coding and billing processes.

Essential duties include accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, DRG assignment, and compliant physician query creation. You will review claims for medical necessity and support multiple sites with strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent experience and AHIMA/AAPC certification required.
• Experience with CABG, Orthopedic, and Medical cases required.
• Experience using 3M 360 Encoder HDM required.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient coding: assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and determine DRG.
• Create compliant physician queries.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists per client contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Float between sites and coding specialties as needed.
