Job summary

Denver Health is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Correctional Care Med Fac CCMF unit. You will supervise nursing and support staff on an inpatient unit, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care in collaboration with the health care team.

The role requires an Associate's Degree, 1-3 years nursing experience, and active RN license with DORA and BLS. You will optimize staffing, mentor staff, and coordinate patient flow, admissions and discharges on days.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree is required.
• 1–3 years of professional nursing experience in a patient care setting.
• RN license (DORA) and BLS required.
• Strong communication and team leadership abilities.
• Proficient with electronic health records and basic office software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department/unit for assigned shift, staffing, mentoring, and leadership of nurses and support staff.
• Assess patient needs and provide health education and disease prevention to patients and families.
• Coordinate with health care team to plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans; adjust as needed.
• Administer medications, document care, and perform reassessments of patient status.
• Monitor patient vital signs, document changes, and report concerns promptly.
