Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a clinically competent RN to provide inpatient care in the Registry Days Behavioral Health unit. The nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for acutely ill patients, coordinating with families and the health team.

Qualified candidates hold a BSN (ADN acceptable with commitment to a BSN within three years) and a current Illinois RN license, with BLS and advanced life support certifications as required for ER and pediatric areas.

Qualifications

BSN degree required or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years.
Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
American Heart Association BLS certification.
ACLS, PALS/ENPC and TNCC within one year of hire where applicable.
Strong collaboration and analytic skills.

Responsibilities

Collects and analyzes data, develops an individualized care plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates outcomes.
Directs care and utilizes assistants as needed for direct patient care.
Collaborates with patients, families, physicians and staff to communicate care plans.
Participates in shared governance, committees, and unit projects.
Documents patient responses and updates the plan of care based on evaluations.
Utilizes evidence and research to guide nursing practice.
