Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher for elementary settings. You will design personalized lessons for students with IEPs, integrate curriculum resources, and use educational software to support diverse learning needs.

The role emphasizes collaboration with families and staff within a learning center or classroom. Responsibilities include differentiating instruction, tracking progress, and maintaining records while upholding PBIS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• IL PEL credential in process or obtained.
• IL LBS1 credential in process or obtained.
• Crisis management training certification.

Responsibilities

• Create an inclusive, collaborative environment with students, parents, colleagues, and admins.
• Establish PBIS-based classroom climate with mutual respect and clear expectations.
• Implement PBIS strategies, rewards, and appropriate consequences.
• Track student progress and maintain accurate files.
• Deliver differentiated instruction in co-teaching to meet IEP goals.
• Develop and modify curricula to suit diverse learners and staff guidance.
• Utilize varied instructional methods and educational software.
• Manage IEP caseloads, goals, and interventions.
• Prepare detailed daily lesson plans aligned to standards.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom and adapt to emergencies.
