Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is partnering with DeWitt-based manufacturers to add Packaging Engineers to their teams. This role focuses on designing and testing packaging for both new and existing products while collaborating with R&D, manufacturing, and marketing to align specifications with cost, manufacturability, and sustainability goals.

Ideal candidates hold a packaging engineering degree, 3+ years of relevant experience, and strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of packaging development/engineering in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in CAD software for package design and analysis.
Knowledge of packaging materials, testing methodologies, and manufacturing processes.
Experience with packaging machinery and automation.
Strong understanding of ISTA and ASTM standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test packaging solutions for new and existing products.
Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and marketing to define packaging requirements and specifications.
Optimize packaging designs for cost, manufacturability, sustainability, and supply chain efficiency.
Conduct material selection, testing, and qualification to ensure performance and compliance.
Troubleshoot and resolve packaging-related issues during production and field.
Develop and maintain packaging documentation, including specs and test reports.
Stay abreast of new packaging technologies, materials, and regulations to drive improvement.
