Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is partnering with Coopersville-area manufacturers to identify experienced Packaging Engineers. The role focuses on designing, testing, and optimizing packaging solutions for both new and existing products, collaborating with cross-functional teams across R&D, manufacturing, and marketing.

Candidates should apply packaging knowledge to improve cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, sustainability, and product protection, while performing material testing and documentation

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's in Packaging Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years packaging engineering in manufacturing.
• Proven CAD experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Solid understanding of packaging materials and processes.
• Familiarity with ISTA/ASTM testing methods.
• Experience with supply chain and vendor management for packaging.

Responsibilities

• Design and test packaging solutions for new and existing products.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and marketing to define specs.
• Optimize packaging for cost, manufacturability, sustainability, and protection.
• Select materials and manage testing/qualification processes.
• Develop packaging specs, BOMs, and technical docs.
• Troubleshoot packaging issues in production and logistics.
• Stay up-to-date with packaging industry trends and regulations.
