Job summary

Urschel Laboratories, INC. in Chesterton, IN invites you to join as an Innovation & Development (I&D) Manufacturing Engineering Intern for Summer 2027.

You will work with our engineering teams on design, development, and testing of new equipment, gaining hands-on experience in prototyping and manufacturing processes. You will create 3D models in SolidWorks, assist with manufacturing planning and cost estimation, and participate in equipment testing and data documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program at an accredited university.
• Entering junior or senior standing with GPA ≥ 2.8.
• Experience with CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
• Interest in product development and manufacturing processes; hands-on learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, development, and evaluation of new equipment concepts and prototypes.
• Create/modify 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using CAD (SolidWorks).
• Support prototype development with manufacturing planning, cost estimation, sourcing, and drawings.
• Operate 3D printing equipment to build prototype/test components.
• Participate in equipment testing, machine assembly, data collection, and documentation.
