Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer – Machine Design to join our Industrial team onsite in Highland Heights, OH. You will support sales, collaborate with customers to finalize specs, and coordinate multi-disciplinary activities from design through fabrication.

You’ll generate Creo and AutoCAD Mechanical designs, specify materials and processes, and contribute to test protocols. Strong drafting, electrical knowledge, and a degree in engineering are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in machine design
• 2+ years project experience
• Strong drafting and Creo background
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical design principles
• Solid electrical systems and machine controls preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Assist commercial team in identifying applications and provide technical support on sales calls.
• Work with customers to develop products and finalize specifications for their applications.
• Coordinate all project related activities with internal teams after award of business including requirements management, design, project timing, customer communication, fabrication and component procurement.
• Generation and approval of designs in both Pro-Engineer (Creo) and AutoCAD Mechanical and structural calculations, specification of materials, heat treatment, machining and fabrication methods.
• Specifications for machine controls (both pneumatic and electrical).
• Outsourcing of electrical panel work as required.
• Participate in technical presentations to educate and train customers.
• Develop test protocols and support product testing as required.
• Provide technical support after award of business including troubleshooting and change management.
• Responsible for all product realization deliverables per the Quality Management System (feasibility, design studies, APQP deliverables as required).
• Support engineering department on specific projects to provide the overall technical growth of the company.
