Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Highland Heights, OH is seeking a Project Engineer - onsite to support the commercial team and drive product developments from concept through production.

You will coordinate cross-functional activities, prepare designs in Creo and AutoCAD, perform mechanical and electrical calculations, and ensure design deliverables meet the company Quality Management System. A 5+ year track record in project engineering with customer interaction is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years experience in project engineering with direct customer interaction.
• 5+ years experience with electrical systems and machine controls.
• Machine Design
• Strong Drafting and 3D Pro-Engineer (Creo)
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical design principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist commercial team in identifying applications and provide technical support on sales calls.
• Work with customers to develop products and finalize specifications for their applications.
• Coordinate all project related activities with internal teams after award of business including requirements management, design, project timing, customer communication, fabrication and component procurement.
• Generation and approval of designs in both Pro-Engineer (Creo) and AutoCAD
• Mechanical and structural calculations, specification of materials, heat treatment, machining and fabrication methods.
• Specifications for machine controls (both pneumatic and electrical). Outsourcing of electrical panel work as required.
• Participate in technical presentations to educate and train customers.
• Develop test protocols and support product testing as required.
• Provide technical support after award of business including troubleshooting and change management.
• Responsible for all product realization deliverables per the Quality Management System (feasibility, design studies, APQP deliverables as required)
• Support engineering department on specific projects to support the overall technical growth of the company.
