Job summary

AECOM is seeking an energetic and motivated ITS/Traffic Operations Engineer to support traffic engineering, ITS, and transportation systems management and operations in southeast Michigan. The role focuses on TOC operations, real-time traffic management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

The engineer will develop signal timing, conduct studies, analyze data, and prepare technical reports while providing on-site support at client locations in Mount Clemens, MI.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize traffic signal timing plans using Synchro/SimTraffic.
• Perform traffic and ITS studies to analyze roadway performance and recommend improvements.
• Support real-time traffic management and incident coordination.
• Prepare technical reports and analyses for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with agency staff, contractors, and consultants to address challenges.
