AECOM is seeking a Senior Traffic / Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Engineer in Detroit, Michigan. You will join a growing Transportation team, leading ITS and traffic signal projects for MDOT and local agencies, and coordinating with public-sector clients across Southeast Michigan.

The ideal candidate combines deep ITS technical depth with strong client-facing and business development skills, mentoring staff and expanding AECOM’s presence in Michigan.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• 8+ years of relevant traffic/ITS engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of traffic engineering design software and CAD platforms.

Mansioni

• Lead and perform traffic engineering, operations, and ITS assignments for public-sector clients.
• Lead and support project management: scope, staffing, budgeting, QA, and client communication.
• Develop ITS planning and design efforts including architecture, communications, and system integration.
• Provide construction-phase support: field coordination, RFIs, testing, and commissioning.
• Lead traffic signal design, timing, operations, and optimization.
• Prepare plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
• Mentor junior engineers and support business development in Michigan.
• Coordinate with MDOT, counties, municipalities, and regional transportation stakeholders.
• Contribute to growth of AECOM's traffic and ITS practice in Michigan.
