Job summary

AECOM's Transportation team in Novi, Michigan seeks a Senior Traffic / ITS Engineer to advance traffic operations, ITS planning, and signal systems for MDOT and local public-sector clients. You will lead technical work, mentor staff, and contribute to proposals while expanding AECOM’s presence in Southeast Michigan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 8+ years of traffic/ITS experience.
• Experience with MDOT and Michigan agencies preferred.
• PE license and PTOE certification and/or ability to obtain within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead traffic engineering, ITS, and signal system assignments for public-sector clients.
• Develop ITS planning/design efforts including architecture, devices, and integration.
• Manage project scope, staffing, scheduling, budgets, and client communications.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive QA/QC across projects.
• Support business development and client relationship building in Michigan.
