Job summary

Vertex is seeking a Senior Manager, Innovation and Business Transformation to drive technology-enabled transformation across Medical Writing Science. You will translate business needs into practical plans, coordinate testing and adoption, and enable continuous improvement of new capabilities.

You will partner with leaders, users, and technology teams to ensure solutions address needs, are implemented effectively, and improve scientific and operational workflows. Hybrid-eligible or on-site.

Qualifications

• 6 years of experience working in biotechnology, pharma, or related technology/engineering fields.
• Bachelor's degree in a technology discipline or equivalent.
• Experience supporting technology-enabled transformation, AI enablement, or process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Execute defined technology-enabled transformation initiatives, coordinating milestones and stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.
• Assess current-state workflows, identify pain points, and contribute to future-state process design.
• Translate business needs into requirements, maps, user stories, criteria, and implementation plans.
• Partner with experts and technology teams to validate workflows and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Evaluate capabilities against requirements, usability, risk, and outcomes with leadership input.
• Plan prototypes, pilots, testing, and adoption activities with documented outcomes.
• Lead organizational readiness, change activities, communications, and user support.
• Monitor adoption and performance, identifying opportunities for ongoing optimization.
• Coordinate stakeholders, manage risks, and escalate critical decisions to leadership.
