Job summary

PetIQ is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to build and manage a supplier network for ingredients, components, and co-packers, aligning external sourcing with PetIQ's innovation goals.

This role sits with the Innovation team, supporting feasibility, costs, and qualification of new opportunities to advance our portfolio. It will coordinate with Supply Chain for scale-up and execution.

Qualifications

• Experience in sourcing, procurement, or business development within CPG, pet health, or regulated consumer products industries.
• Strong relationship-building and negotiation instincts; comfortable representing the company externally.
• Working knowledge of cost modeling and target costing.
• Willingness to travel to industry trade shows, supplier visits, and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a network of ingredient, component, and co-packer suppliers so PetIQ is the first call when they have something new to pitch.
• Represent PetIQ at trade shows and industry events to build and sustain these relationships.
• Evaluate inbound supplier pitches and route credible opportunities into the innovation pipeline.
• Provide early-stage, rough cost/target-cost input to support go/no-go decisions at stage gates.
• Flag supply risk on emerging ingredients and components as input to gate decisions.
• Hand off qualified opportunities to the Supply Chain team for production-scale negotiation and ongoing supplier management.
• Coordinate closely with Supply Chain to avoid duplicate outreach to the same suppliers.
• Partner with the Head of Innovation and Innovation Manager to keep the sourcing pipeline aligned with portfolio priorities.
