Cooley LLP is seeking an Innovation Counsel to join our Practice Innovation team in Los Angeles. You will help advance initiatives that maximize the value of our innovation technologies and processes, collaborating with practice leaders, resource attorneys, and education teams to establish best practices in legal technology across the firm.

You will design playbooks, organize executive briefings, and drive pilots, timelines, and success metrics.

Qualifications

• 4+ years direct applicable experience in legal technology adoption.
• Active bar status in relevant jurisdictions or in-house counsel eligibility.
• JD or equivalent required with experience supporting legal tech initiatives.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional projects with legal and technology teams.

Responsibilities

• Support attorney-level input on targeted legal tech adoption initiatives.
• Design playbooks to implement best practices for innovation technologies.
• Organize presentations, reports, and executive briefings.
• Collaborate with leadership across innovation, operations, and practice groups on prioritization.
• Work with practice management and pricing teams to optimize workflows using tech.
• Drive pilots, deployments, proofs of concept, and continuous improvements.
• Develop practice-group specific resources and scale efforts with other departments.
