Job summary

Cooley LLP in Los Angeles is seeking a Knowledge Management Attorney to join the Practice Engineering team within the Innovation department. The role focuses on the design and implementation of document automation software, creation of standard forms, and training materials for assigned practice groups.

Qualifications

• JD/Bar admission or equivalent eligibility in jurisdictions where you regularly practice
• 4+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably with a large law firm
• Proficiency in MS Office and legal software; ability to manage forms and templates for maintenance
• Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required

Responsibilities

• Draft and maintain standard forms, precedents, and guidance materials with practice group leadership
• Coordinate collection and deployment of knowledge across Cooley's software portfolio
• Serve as SME and resource for practice group attorneys and cross-functional teams
• Prepare high-quality thought leadership materials for attorneys and clients
• Prioritize form collection, template automation, and automated testing based on value and regulatory requirements
• Assist with automation efforts for practice group work products and processes
• Develop automated testing methodologies for updating legal language in digital platforms
• Ensure usability and accessibility of legal software for attorneys and clients
• Identify risks related to AI-powered and deterministic software and mitigations
