Job summary

Henderson Group is seeking an Inkjet Application Engineer for a C5ISR technology client in the United States. The role moves a custom printing platform from R&D into production for flexible electronics, focusing on optimizing inkjet and micro-pen delivery systems while solving hardware and software challenges.

You will work with sales to define requirements, produce prototypes, and support DoD and government contracts.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in inkjet application development or additive manufacturing.
• 2+ years focused on electronic, electrical, or RF/microwave components.
• Experience with industrial inkjet hardware and software debugging.

Responsibilities

• Test inks, printheads, and substrates for print quality, cycle time, compatibility, and customer requirements.
• Operate and optimize industrial inkjet printers and micro-pen dispensers for high-precision electronics.
• Evaluate fluid-structure interactions and tune printing waveforms for flexible and RF/microwave electronics.
• Define customer requirements with sales, configure custom printing solutions, create prototypes, and prepare cost estimates.
• Conduct proof-of-concept evaluations on specialized electronics substrates.
• Contribute to technical discussions, white papers, proposals, and demonstrations for DoD and government contracts.
• Troubleshoot fluidic, hardware, software, and integration issues for field teams and subcontractors.
• Train customer engineering teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Document design work and prepare reports, guides, and SOPs.
