Job summary

AllSearch Professional Staffing seeks a Project Engineer for an injection molding manufacturing client in Elkhart, IN to lead new product and tooling launches from concept to production release. This role oversees mold design, tooling build, mold trials, validation, and production start.

Bachelor’s in Engineering with 5+ years in NPI for injection molding or tooling design is required; SolidWorks CAD experience is essential to design tooling and support mold validation and process parameters.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
5+ years in new product launches within injection molding or tooling design.
Robust understanding of the injection molding process from concept to production.
Advanced knowledge of injection molding materials, tooling, process parameters, and related machinery.
Experience with CAD, including SolidWorks, and CAM software.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting molding, tooling, or manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Manage new product and injection molding tooling projects from initial concept through tooling design and build, mold trials, validation, and production launch.
Collaborate with mold designers on product specs, prototypes, injection mold tooling, and new tooling designs.
Conduct feasibility studies, DFM reviews, and cost analyses for new projects.
Prepare quote packages and coordinate with outside tooling vendors and suppliers on timelines and updates.
Design new product concepts using CAD and 3D modeling software, including SolidWorks.
Verify moldability and support reverse engineering using mold simulation and related software.
Troubleshoot injection molding, tooling, product design, and manufacturing issues during development and launch.
Work with quality and sales teams throughout new product introduction and production release.
