Job summary

Hotrun Inc. is seeking a hands-on, senior technical leader to guide plastic product development from customer concept through mold development, testing, and production launch.

You will steer tooling projects, review part designs for manufacturability, and coordinate with mold makers to ensure on-time program launches. You will lead prototypes, mold trials, sampling, and validation on the shop floor, collaborating with the Senior Process Engineer and Molding Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Deep experience in injection mold tooling and product engineering.
• Strong knowledge of DFM, mold design, mold construction, and tooling costs.
• Experience leading new products from design through manufacturing launch.
• Advanced 3D CAD skills; SolidWorks or Creo preferred.

A well-established injection molding manufacturer is seeking a hands-on technical leader to guide new plastic products from customer concept through mold development, testing, and production launch.

In this senior role, you’ll lead injection mold tooling and product engineering projects, review part designs, coordinate with mold makers, and help ensure new programs launch successfully. You’ll work closely with the manufacturing team, including a Senior Process Engineer and Molding Supervisor. The molding process itself is led by the Senior Process Engineer, so this position focuses on product design, tooling, and program launch.

What you’ll do

• Lead injection mold tooling projects from concept through production approval.
• Review customer part designs and recommend practical design-for-manufacturing (DFM) improvements.
• Develop tooling specifications, review mold designs, and manage build schedules and costs.
• Coordinate with domestic and overseas mold makers, including occasional travel to China.
• Lead prototypes, mold trials, sampling, validation, and production launches.
• Work on the manufacturing floor with the Senior Process Engineer and Molding Supervisor to resolve tooling and part issues.
