Job summary

IEG Plastics is seeking a Plastic Injection Molding Project Engineer to manage engineering projects from concept through production launch. You will coordinate new product introductions, mold and tooling development, process validation, and equipment installation to meet customer requirements, quality standards, costs, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Plastics/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field required.
• 3–5 years of experience in plastic injection molding, manufacturing engineering or project engineering preferred.
• Strong understanding of injection molding processes, mold construction, tooling design, and plastics materials.
• Experience with new product launches, mold trials, process validation, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensional inspection, and manufacturing documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools; CAD knowledge preferred.
• Experience in automotive, consumer products, or regulated manufacturing environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept through tooling development, validation, and production launch.
• Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, milestones, and resource requirements.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, resolve issues, and communicate status to management and customers.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure on-time deliverables and maintain documentation.
• Oversee mold design review, tooling qualification, and mold trials.
• Develop and optimize injection molding processes: pressure, temperature, cycle times, and validation.
