Job Description
General Summary
This position works under minimal supervision and is responsible for operating one or more of the Injection Molding Production Lines as assigned during the shift.
Duties and Responsibilities (essential duties are italicized)
- Production line operation
- a. Pulls work orders at the beginning of the shift and throughout the shift as needed.
- b. Verifies work order labels and data, ensuring accuracy prior to starting production.
- c. Inspects product type, label, and molding uniformity.
- d. Loads appropriate label file.
- e. Runs production equipment at standard rates set by the company.
- f. Begins production run, per work order.
- g. Comfortable using a weight scale for accuracy.
- h. Prints and labels boxes.
- i. Pulls flattened case boxes and assembles enough of them for that shift.
- j. Prints and labels cases.
- k. Performs final assembly and/or packaging of molded parts.
- l. Records production run data on work order and in ERP System (EPICOR).
- m. Stops machine at the end of the run.
- n. Cleans and maintains production machines and work areas.
2. Performs basic troubleshooting on machines, resolving basic problems as trained.3. Escalates machine problems to the Maintenance Team and/or Lead as required.4. Performs in a manner consistent with company Core Values and Purpose.5. Attends all scheduled meetings, missing no more than 10% annually.6. Clocks in and out for work and lunch with no more than 1 error per month.7. Provides excellent customer service.8. Follows all OSHA and other safety guidelines.9. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Basic computer usage including mouse.
- Ability to learn label printing software.
- Basic understanding of English to read work orders and write information.
- Mechanical aptitude to perform setup, daily start-up, tuning, minor repair of filling and packaging equipment.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions and maintenance manuals.
- Ability to perform basic addition and subtraction.
- Ability to use logic to troubleshoot production machine issues.
- Ability to visually inspect coding, product labeling, and finished goods to identify defects and match products with appropriate packaging.
- Ability to develop a thorough understanding of operational procedures to ensure safe manufacturing.
- Ability to manage stress.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including sitting, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, and walking for extended periods on concrete floors, and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Position requires approximately 5% sitting and 95% standing or walking.
- Vision must be within or correctable to within normal range.
- Must work from the Arlington, TX facility and be able to work on time during scheduled shifts. Availability for evening/weekend work as needed is required.
- Exposure to production equipment and moderate noise levels in the work environment.
Work Environment
The work environment involves occasional exposure to computers and toxic chemicals, with moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Position starts at between $18.00-$18.50 per hour depending on experience, with a shift differential of $0.75 more per hour for B shift (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm).
