Job summary

Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, seeks an administrative professional to support the infusion area in Adult Hematology/Oncology. This role independently schedules infusion procedures, ensures required testing, prior authorization, orders, and appointments are completed before infusion dates.

You will assign patients to chairs by acuity and treatment length, and monitor infusion chair utilization.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Business or Health Related Field and 2 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
• Working knowledge of computers and data processing in a clinical setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Schedule infusion procedures independently and ensure required testing, prior authorization, orders, and appointments are finalized before infusion dates.
• Assign patients to infusion chairs based on acuity and treatment length.
• Monitor data related to infusion room and chair utilization.
• Act as a liaison among physicians, clinic staff, infusion room staff, and procedure room staff regarding policies, procedures, and schedule information.
