Job summary

SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY seeks an administrative professional to support the infusion area of Adult Hematology/Oncology. You will independently schedule infusion procedures, ensure required testing, prior authorizations, orders and appointments are completed before infusion dates.

You will assign patients to infusion chairs by acuity and treatment length, monitor room utilization data, and liaise with physicians, clinic staff, infusion room staff and procedure room staff

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Business or Health Related Field with 2 years relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule infusion procedures and finalize testing, prior authorization, orders, and appointments.
• Assign patients to infusion chairs based on acuity and length of treatment.
• Monitor data relative to infusion room and chair utilization.
• Act as liaison for physicians, clinic staff, infusion room staff and procedure room staff regarding policies and scheduling.
• Coordinate with Patient Service Leader and Patient Service Supervisor on clinical prioritization of infusion chairs.
