Job summary

Thisiscny in Syracuse, NY is seeking a dedicated scheduling coordinator for the infusion area of the Adult Hematology/Oncology Department. The role requires independent scheduling of infusion procedures, confirming testing, prior authorizations, orders, and appointments before each infusion date.

You will assign patients to infusion chairs based on acuity and expected duration, and work closely with clinicians and support staff.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Business or Health Related Field and 2 years relevant experience required.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
• Working knowledge of computer, electronic medical record, and data processing skills desirable.

Responsibilities

• Schedule infusion procedures independently and ensure required testing, prior authorization, orders, and appointments are finalized.
• Assign patients to infusion chairs based on acuity and treatment length.
• Monitor data related to infusion room and chair utilization.
• Liaise with physicians, clinic staff, infusion room staff, and procedure room staff regarding schedules.
• Collaborate with Patient Service Leader and Supervisor on prioritizing infusion chairs.
