Job summary

Upstate Cancer Center in Syracuse, NY is seeking an infusion scheduling coordinator in the Adult Hematology/Oncology Department. This role provides independent scheduling of infusion procedures, ensures testing, prior authorizations, orders and appointments are finalized before infusion dates.

You will assign patients to chairs by acuity and expected treatment length, monitor infusion room utilization, and act as liaison among physicians, clinic staff, infusion room staff, and procedure room

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Business or Health Related Field with 2 years relevant experience or equivalent.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
• Working knowledge of computer, EMR, and data processing desirable.

Responsibilities

• Schedule infusion procedures independently and ensure testing, prior authorizations, orders and appointments are finalized.
• Assign patients to infusion chairs based on acuity and length of treatment.
• Monitor data relative to infusion room and chair utilization.
• Liaise with physicians, clinic staff, infusion room staff, and procedure room staff regarding policies and schedule information.
• Work closely with the Patient Service Leader and Supervisor on clinical prioritization of infusion chairs.
