Job summary

BrightSpring Health Services Corporation, through Amerita, seeks a Pharmacy Intake Coordinator in Irving, TX to manage new referrals, verify insurance, and coordinate authorizations. Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm, with a focus on accurate intake and interdepartmental communication.

The role requires strong communication skills, healthcare experience, and attention to payer requirements to ensure timely referrals and patient coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; Associate's Degree or some college preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience collecting referral information in the healthcare market.
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance payers.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification procedures.
• Understanding of Amerita scope of services.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Takes Infusion Therapy referrals from referral sources.
• Ensures intake forms are complete, clear and within Amerita's scope of service.
• Obtains authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers.
• Enters patient demographic, insurance and authorization information into the computer system.
• Communicates with other departments regarding the status of referrals.
• Notifies patients/families regarding coverage and payment responsibilities.
• Understands which insurance companies have active contracts with Amerita.
• Ensures insurance verification is completed and authorization is in place prior to giving the referral to a Pharmacist.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
