Job summary

Local Infusion is expanding with an Insurance & Intake Coordinator—an Infusion Guide—onsite in Commack, NY, Monday to Friday, 8:00–4:30. You will coordinate referrals, authorizations, and insurance pre-authorizations while delivering patient-centered care.

The role emphasizes reading medical charts, managing insurance workflows, and maintaining strong communication with providers and patients to ensure smooth infusion journeys.

Qualifications

• Health care experience required.
• Prior experience in infusion or similar setting preferred.
• Insurance prior authorization experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of the infusion referral process including authorizations and financial counseling.
• Liaise with referring providers to obtain documentation and communicate patient status.
• Communicate referral process and status to patients in a customer-centric way.
• Openly communicate with referring/prescribing providers.
