Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Practice Assistant for the Medical Infusion unit in Boston. This role combines hands-on patient support with scheduling and front desk responsibilities to ensure smooth practice operations.

You will welcome patients, obtain weights and vital signs, assist nurses on the infusion unit, and help coordinate each patient’s visit for multiple 8-hour shifts per week, including rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers.
• Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
• MA, EMT, CNA, LNA certificate or diploma; or at least 5 months of direct patient care experience in a clinical or research setting.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and assist with check-in and orientation.
• Escort patients to the infusion area and prepare them for treatment.
• Obtain and document patient weights and vital signs.
• Assist with IV removal under nursing direction and support patient transfers.
• Coordinate referrals, scheduling, and pre-certifications as needed.
• Register patients and verify demographic/insurance information.
• Support billing documentation and collect co-payments.
