Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Livingston, NJ seeks a Medical Assistant for the Infusion Center. You will support providers, collect specimens, record vital signs, and help maintain orderly exam rooms to ensure efficient patient flow.

The role emphasizes compassionate interaction, accuracy in documentation, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced cancer center environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Orientation program completion required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred or MA/Technologist experience.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to/ from exam rooms and queue them to appropriate locations.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect lab specimens per policy.
• Record vital signs and update medication reconciliation in the chart.
• Assist with room setup, supplies, and clerical tasks as needed.
• Communicate with nurses and physicians about patient questions and concerns.
