Job summary

HNTB in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Project Finance Associate to maintain project financial data in our PM system and ensure billing aligns with contracts and change orders. The role supports the project finance team with subcontractor costs, vendor invoices, and cost codes across projects.

You will prepare internal financial reports, review invoices for contractual compliance, and work with the project team to manage client and subconsultant relationships. Regular full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate degree and 2 years of relevant work experience, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Update the project management system by translating client and project workplan data based on contract and change order review.
• Charge to project tasks and phases in the project management system.
• Ensure project costs are properly coded and allocated; monitor project status and data updates.
• Manage cost transfers to/from projects/tasks.
• Review and approve project invoices for contractual compliance; verify billed costs.
• Generate routine and ad hoc internal project financial reports.
• Review vendor/subconsultant invoices for accuracy and compliance (including DBE and insurance).
• Coordinate approvals and track workflow for timely outcomes.
• Collaborate with the project team to maintain client/subconsultant relationships and assist with receivables updates.
• Assist or lead subcontracting processes; support proposal process with gross margin analysis and cost proposals.
• Perform other duties.
