Job summary

Chime seeks a Software Engineer for the Infrastructure Platform to automate cloud infrastructure, build self-service tooling, and maintain Terraform modules. You will work with Terraform, ArgoCD, AWS, and Kubernetes, delivering scalable, secure platforms for customer-facing services.

Collaboration with product engineers to implement 12-Factor App patterns and ensure reliability, observability, and strong deployment practices will be core to the role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of cloud and infrastructure experience.
• Strong development experience in Ruby on Rails and Go Lang.
• DevOps/SRE/ProdEng experience supporting customer-facing web services.
• Proven ability to partner with engineers and teams with strong communication.
• Experience with containers and container orchestration, and managing Kubernetes Helm charts.
• Experience building highly-available public cloud infrastructure emphasizing stability, scalability, and security.
• Experience with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools, including Terraform modules.
• Experience supporting relational or NoSQL databases, message buses, caching services, and other service components.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and testing platforms, focusing on continuous deployments.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms.
• Customer-focused attitude and collaborative mindset.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Datadog, Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Automate scaling, monitoring, and operations of the infrastructure.
• Build tools for self-service within the team and across engineering; tooling in Ruby on Rails and Go.
• Design, build, and support cloud infrastructure with automation and IaC; maintain Terraform modules.
• Develop tools and processes to ensure security, scalability, and availability; manage Kubernetes Helm charts and CI/CD deployments.
• Partner with product engineers to implement modern design patterns (12-Factor App).
• Foster strong relationships with engineers, managers, and colleagues based on trust and technical excellence.
