Job summary

Chime is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer on the Core Infrastructure team to design and operate scalable cloud infrastructure, primarily with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform. You will automate operations, build self-serve tooling, and collaborate with product teams to apply modern design patterns.

You will work with premier observability and AI-enabled workflows, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across services that power Chime for millions of users.

Qualifications

• More than 2 years of cloud and infrastructure experience.
• Strong development experience in Ruby on Rails and Go Lang.
• DevOps/SRE/ProdEng role supporting customer-facing web services.
• Strong communication with engineers and teams.
• Experience building highly-available cloud infrastructure focusing on stability, scalability, and security.
• Experience with configuration management and IaC tools, including Terraform modules.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, message buses, caching services, and common service components.

Responsibilities

• Automate scaling, monitoring, and operations.
• Build tools for self-service within the team and across Chime engineering.
• Design, build, and support Chime's cloud infrastructure using IaC.
• Adopt new technologies to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Partner with product engineers to build services using 12 Factor App patterns.
• Develop relationships with engineers, managers, and colleagues based on trust and expertise.
• Advocate and adopt AI tools safely to improve workflows.
