Job summary

MBTA is seeking a Deputy Director of Infrastructure Planning to oversee a team responsible for developing facilities projects from inception through pre-design. This role leads the Bus Facility Modernization program and collaborates with the Capital Delivery Department to advance projects through design and construction.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, planning and design coordination experience, with proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD and MS Office. Travel to MBTA worksites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Planning, Business Administration, Architecture, or related field.
• Five years of progressive experience in complex project management, planning, design or construction of large transit projects.
• Three years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience with Revit or similar design software and Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong communication, organization and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the program and planning phase for bus maintenance facility projects.
• Manage a team of project managers and coordinate with internal clients.
• Develop test fits and conceptual designs using Revit or AutoCAD.
• Oversee project budgets and help secure capital funds.
• Represent MBTA with elected officials and community groups.
