Job summary

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority seeks a Deputy Director of Infrastructure Planning to oversee a team responsible for the development of facilities projects from inception through conceptual design. The role focuses on evaluating project purpose and need, finalizing programs, and advancing to final design under the Capital Delivery Department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Planning, Architecture, or related field from an accredited institution.
• Five (5) years of progressive experience in complex project management, planning, design or construction of large public transit projects.
• Three (3) years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities.
• Experience with Revit or equivalent design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the program and planning phase for bus maintenance facility projects.
• Manage a team of two to three project managers to meet MBTA needs.
• Develop test fits and conceptual designs using Revit or AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with external agencies, abutters, utilities, and community groups.
• Prepare project presentations for elected officials and stakeholders.
• Oversee capital programs related to nine bus maintenance facilities modernization.
