Job summary

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is seeking a Project Manager in the Capital Delivery group to lead projects from planning and design through construction. The role requires coordinating with consultants and contractors, managing budgets, schedules, and compliance with MBTA standards and federal guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
• Seven+ years of experience managing engineering, design, construction, infrastructure, transportation, transit, or public works capital projects of $20 million or more.
• Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), CCM, PMP or equivalent certification.
• Experience delivering large-scale public infrastructure or transportation projects.
• Experience with DB/CMAR and MGL Chapter 149A.
• Experience managing federally funded transportation projects.
• Knowledge of transit and railroad safety regulations and construction within active operating environments.
• Experience using Primavera P6, Trimble Unity, e-Builder, or comparable PMIS software.
• Knowledge of MBTA standards and related directives.

Responsibilities

• Manage the development of MBTA Capital Delivery projects from planning through design and construction phases with full responsibility for schedule and budget.
• Administer professional service, design and construction contracts including negotiations.
• Establish initial budgets, cost estimates, and cash flow projections.
• Serve as the main MBTA contact between the Authority and consultants or contractors.
• Ensure work complies with MBTA manuals, policies and procedures and relevant third-party agreements.
• Provide monthly/quarterly updates of schedules and budgets and coordinate with various stakeholders.
