Job summary

Shepherd Insurance LLC is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to own day-to-day health, reliability, and security of core technology infrastructure. You will manage Windows/Linux servers, virtualization, network, DNS/DHCP, VPN, AD, and endpoint deployment (Intune/Autopilot).

You will work with IT leadership to keep Shepherd's environment stable, secure, and well-documented. You will collaborate with the Director of IT and Security Analyst, support multi-site operations, and help transition

Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V).
Working knowledge of network administration, including firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless infrastructure.
Experience administering DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, and related network services.
Experience administering Fortinet firewalls, FortiGate, VPN, and related network security services, preferred.
Experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and endpoint management via Intune and Autopilot.
Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online migrations, preferred.
Familiarity with backup and recovery tools, and sound understanding of infrastructure security best practices.
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues methodically and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical staff.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft systems, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and Office Suite, Internet Browsers and ticketing systems.
Experience supporting a multi-site environment, preferred.
Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, VMware, or networking) preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers and virtual machines, including patching and maintenance.
Administer the virtualization environment (VMware / vSphere) to ensure uptime and performance.
Monitor system resources and logs to identify and resolve issues.
Manage Fortinet firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, VPN, policies and changes.
Administer wireless access points and controllers across Shepherd locations.
Troubleshoot network outages and maintain performance monitoring.
Administer DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, and related network services.
Coordinate network installation projects with vendors, including documentation.
Perform Active Directory administration and Group Policy.
Manage endpoint configuration and deployment via Intune and Autopilot.
Support Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online administration and migrations.
Review backup logs and perform regular test restores.
Support business continuity and disaster recovery infrastructure.
Partner with Security Analyst on vulnerability management.
Serve as escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
Establish and maintain infrastructure documentation and asset records.
Manage vendor relationships for hardware and software.
Support transition of services in-house from MSP.
