Job summary

Westwood Professional Services is seeking an Infrastructure Design Intern in Fort Worth, TX, to support a civil design team working on municipal and public sector infrastructure projects. You will learn to apply Civil Engineering concepts, assist senior engineers, and build proficiency in design software.

The internship emphasizes hands-on fieldwork, site visits, and collaboration with clients and staff, while developing drafting and documentation skills in a professional setting.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate Civil Engineering program.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for professional interactions.
• Willingness to learn in a flexible, cross-disciplinary work environment.
• Willingness to attend site visits and work outdoors when needed.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist with grading, drainage, roadway, and utility plans for public infrastructure projects.
• Use AutoCAD Civil3D, HydroCAD, OpenRoads or similar software to prepare and check drawings, layouts, and estimates.
• Assist with creating and submitting technical reports, exhibits and presentations.
• Conduct field reviews and other assessments as needed.
• Ensure data quality and accuracy in work products and documentation.
• Travel to project sites to collect data and interface with clients and agency staff.
• Demonstrate professional behavior and uphold company values during all tasks.
